bottom edge of tablet

Or, "I hereby send you."

Ebeling's copy indicates BA instead of TE.

SAG.ḪUL.ḪA.ZA = mukīl rēš lemutti, a kind of demon (see CAD M/2, 184).

The restoration follows CAD Š/3, 282.

For the correction of the second sign, see already AHw, 1393 and CAD Ṭ, 119 and U/W, 87. The sign on the tablet (not just the copy) is U₂.

The restoration follows CAD A/2, 434.

Restore: KA-INIM-M[A ŠU-IL₂-LA₂ {d}NIN-URTA-KAM*] (?).

If this is the second line of Ninurta 4, as Abusch and Schwemer 2016: 378 suggest, the first sign of this second line of the prayer is not congruent with the other witnesses, which attest the relative particle ša (ša₂). See Abusch and Schwemer 2016: 279, where they do not place the present tablet in their score.

In other words, the supplicant may speak freely about his concerns at this moment in the ritual.

Abusch and Schwemer read pa-aš-[ru], as suggested by the copy (2016: 382). There is, however, a trace of a vertical in my photos, indicating an ⸢AŠ₂⸣.

CAD M/2, 304 suggests reading the end of the line as "famous(?) [in battle?]." The proposed restoration would have to squeeze into a gap that might fit only one or at most two signs. Restoring [qab?-li?], for example, would be very tight. It seems more likely to me that there is no gap since the scribe completed the present line in the following indented one.

I owe the reading of the first broken sign to CAD I/J, 179. For the restored epithet at the end of the line, see K.9938: 11, cited in CAD B, 104. If all three signs are to fit, the scribe likely had to write onto the tablet's edge. It may be, however, that the epithet had no object in this line. Perhaps the object was deferred so that it is shared with the epithet in the following line, qardami. That word is the object of the verb in RA 12 74: 19f. (Bod S 302 = P368468), cited in CAD B, 103.

The restoration follows CAD Q, 129.
