1A series of MU signs on the left edge of the cylinder is inscribed at 90° to the main text. The only two signs still on the cylinder occur to the left of lines 28 and 29.
2The series of U₂ signs on the right edge is inscribed at 90° to the main text on the cylinder.
3The line is part of the ornamentation of the cylinder. The series of SA signs is inscribed on this line to designate the beginning of the main text, the prayer to Nabu that follows. There are a few wedges clustered on the end of the cylinder (the end with the museum number on it) just about where the line of SA signs occurs on the cylinder's side, perhaps providing an easy point of reference for the first line of text.
4I'm not sure about the reading of this line. Lambert Folio no. 009938 reads gaš]an-iá, "my lady."
