2Maul and Strauß suggest restoring lū ša qāssu iššâ, "or one who has raised his hand (against me)," in the gap at the end of the line (2011: 36). See KAR 228, obv. 8 (= PP369192). As they note (37), the line was written over an erasure.
3There is no reason to insert a ša after LU, as do Maul and Strauß (2011: 36). The duplicate in KAR 228, rev. 1 (= P369192) does not attest it: ⸢lu⸣ ina KA-šu₂ u₂-ṣa-⸢a⸣ (collated, against Ebeling's reading); see also a similar line in KAR 228, obv. 9, which reads [lu] ina KA-šu₂ u₂-ṣa-a. (Both lines are cited by Maul and Strauß 2011: 37.)
4Maul and Strauß (2011: 37) have proposed reading NE, a logogram for fever (ummi) or fire (išāt), at the head of this line in the duplicate (KAR 228 [= P369192], rev. 5). I owe the reading am-si to CAD Š/1, 417, which makes better sense in context as a ritual transfer.
