(i 1') he (the god Marduk) commis[sioned me to a]ct [as the one who provides for him, the god the god Nabû, overseer of the] totality of heaven and earth, [al]lowed my hands to grasp [a just scepter].

(i 4') [(With regard to) Esagil, the] palace of heaven and earth, [the residence of] the Enlil of the gods, the god Marduk, I outfitted [Eumuša], the cella of his lordship, with [brig]ht [gold] as if were šallaru-plaster.

(i 8') I built [Ezid]a anew and [com]pleted its construction [with] silver, gold, precious stone(s), [cop]per, musukannu-wood, (and) cedar.

(i 12') [I buil]t (and) completed [Etemenan]ki, the ziggurat of Babylon, and (then) [rais]ed its superstructure [using baked bri]cks (colored with) shining blue glaze.

(i 16') [At that time, (with regard to) E­ur­me­imi]n­an­ki, the ziggurat of Borsippa — [which a king of the past] had built and [had rais]ed [forty-two cubits],

(ii 1') [...] ... [...] ... [...] and [(...)] cedar [...]. Moreover, [I ...] the [(...)] struc[ture ... I built it anew] as (it had been) in anci[ent times and raised its superstructure] as (it was in) [distant] da[ys].

(ii 7') O Nabû, [legitimate] h[eir, exalted vizier], the trium[phant one who is the beloved of the god Marduk, look with favor and] pl[easure upon my] de[eds] and gr[ant me] a [long] life, [the attainment of very old age], a firmly-secured [throne, a long-lasting reign], the cutting [down of the enemy], (and) the conqu[est of enemy land(s)].

(ii 14') Upon [your reliable] wr[iting board], which firmly establishes the bo[undary of heaven and earth], com[mand that my days be long] (and) wr[ite out (my attainment of) very old age].
