End of the inscription missing

For the contents of the now-missing beginning of the inscription, see Nbk. 126A (WBC) i 1–ii 24 and 126B (WBA) i 1–iv 39.

[-na-an] ru--ša-a la-ab-ku na-a-šu “reddish [grain], labku-beer, nāšu-beer”: Compare Nbk. 126A (WBC) ii 4´–5´ and 126B (WBA) iv 48, which have respectively [lab-ku] na-šu-ú [-na-an ru-]-ša-a “[labku-beer], nāšu-beer, [red]dish [grain]” and lab-ku na-šú -na-an ru--šá-a, “labku-beer, nāšu-beer, reddish grain.” Moreover, this inscription does not include kurunnu-wine in the list of offerings to the god Marduk and the goddess Zarpanītu; compare Nbk. 126A (WBC) ii 6´ and 126B (WBA) iv 49.

This inscription omits ù “and” before KUR.[bi-ta-a-ti] “the land Bītāti.” Compare Nbk. 126A (WBC) ii 12´ and 126B (WBA) iii 54.

There is a gap of about four columns between Frgm. 1 and Frgm. 2. This lengthy lacuna corresponds to Nbk. 126A (WBC) ii 3*–v 13´´ and 126B (WBA) iv 58–ix 23.

This is the first line of the column.

é-di-ku₅-kalam-[ma É-su] ša TIN.TIR.KI e--[ši- e-pu-] “[I built] an[ew] Edikukalam[a, his temple] that (is in) Babylon”: Compare Nbk. 126A (WBC) vi 3–4 and 126B (WBA) ix 27–28, which have respectively é-di-ku₅-kalam-ma É-su ša -re-eb ba-bi-lam.KI e--ši- e-pu-, “I built anew Edikukalama, his temple that is in Babylon” and é-di-[ku₅]-kalam-ma É-su ina ba-bi-lu.KI e-pu-, “I built in Babylon Edi[ku]kalama, his temple.”

na-ṣi-ra-at na-pi--ti-ia “the one who safeguards my life”: It is unclear if there is sufficient room on the monument for this epithet of the goddess Gula.

There is a gap of several columns between Frgm. 2 and Frgm. 3. This lengthy lacuna corresponds to Nbk. 126A (WBC) vi 14–ix 45 and 126B (WBA) viii 45–xiv 6´.

Although the traces are not sufficiently legible, one expects that this line might have contained GIŠ.ṣa-ar-ba-ti- ú-kin-ma “I set (them) up like Euphrates poplars”; compare Nbk. 126A (WBC) ix 46.

Assuming that this inscription duplicated verbatim Nbk. 126A (WBC) ix 50–51, then one could tentatively read these two and a half lines as follows: aš-šum ma-na-ma la ḫa-ba-li-ši-na ṣa-lam šar-ru-ti-ia da-rí-a-ti ú-ša-aṣ-bi-it, “So that nobody will oppress them, I set up an image of my enduring royal majesty.”
